Job summary

Accura Engineering in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to support federal construction projects with fire/life safety systems. You will act as SME for UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards, guiding design reviews, QA, submittals, and acceptance testing through all construction phases.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, a PE license, and a deep understanding of codes. You will collaborate with government personnel and contractors on complex projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited college.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum five years of Fire Protection Engineering experience.
• Familiarity with UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and fire/life safety.
• Experience with federal projects (USACE preferred) and QA/commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Understand UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards for fire protection requirements.
• Attend meetings and coordinate with stakeholders to implement fire protection features.
• Perform reviews and provide technical comments on submittals and RFIs.
• Schedule and conduct final acceptance testing of fire protection systems.
• Provide guidance on facility design and fire protection systems to project teams.
• Ensure compliance with project documentation and contract requirements.
