Job summary

Accura Engineering is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to support Fort Hood, Texas-based federal construction projects. The role focuses on fire and life safety system design, compliance with UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA codes, with responsibilities spanning reviews, inspections, and testing.

The candidate will lead coordination with government personnel and project teams, perform detailed technical reviews, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field from an accredited college.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum of five years of fire protection engineering experience.
• Familiarity with UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and fire/life safety requirements.
• Experience with federal projects (USACE or equivalent) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide fire protection engineering support for federal construction projects.
• Serve as subject matter expert for fire and life safety systems and codes.
• Conduct design reviews, inspections, QA, and submittal reviews.
• Coordinate with project teams through all construction phases.
• Perform acceptance testing of fire protection systems and QA oversight.
• Review contractor submittals and RFIs, and document findings.
