Job summary

Accura Engineering is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to support federal construction projects at Fort Hood, TX, with a focus on fire protection and life-safety systems. The role requires ensuring compliance with UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards, performing design reviews, QA, and acceptance testing, and coordinating with project teams.

The candidate will act as SME for fire protection, conduct field inspections, and provide technical guidance throughout all construction phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• PE license required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of Fire Protection Engineering experience.
• Knowledge of UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and fire/life safety requirements.
• USACE or other federal project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide fire protection engineering support for federal construction projects.
• Serve as SME for fire and life safety systems.
• Ensure compliance with UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards.
• Conduct design reviews, inspections, QA, submittal reviews, and acceptance testing.
• Coordinate with project teams throughout construction.
• Attend project meetings with stakeholders and maintain documentation.
• Review contractor submittals and respond to RFIs with technical comments.
• Perform field inspections and quality assurance oversight.
