Job summary

Accura Engineering seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to support federal construction projects at Fort Hood, Texas. The engineer will ensure compliance with UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards, serving as the fire and life-safety SME across all project phases.

The role requires a PE license and at least five years of fire protection experience, with strong technical writing and coordination skills for successful project delivery. US citizenship and federal background check are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• PE license required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of Fire Protection Engineering experience.
• Knowledge of UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards.
• US Army Corps of Engineers or federal project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide fire protection engineering support for federal construction projects at Fort Hood, TX.
• Serve as subject matter expert for fire and life safety systems.
• Design reviews, inspections, QA, submittal reviews, acceptance testing, and coordination with project teams.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and provide guidance on facility design and fire protection systems.
• Review contractor submittals and RFIs, and conduct final acceptance testing.
