Job summary

Accura Engineering seeks a Fire Protection Engineer for Fort Hood, TX. You will lead fire protection design reviews, inspections, QA, submittal reviews, and acceptance testing in federal construction projects.

The ideal candidate has a PE license, 5+ years of fire protection experience, and deep knowledge of UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards. US citizenship and background screening are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited college.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Minimum of five (5) years of Fire Protection Engineering experience.
Knowledge of UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and fire/life safety requirements.

Responsibilities

Understand fire protection requirements related to UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards.
Attend project meetings and coordinate with stakeholders for fire protection features.
Perform plan-review and field reviews, applying lessons from all project phases.
Conduct inspections in line with project docs and contract requirements.
Evaluate practices to ensure compliance with fire protection codes and policies.
Prepare technical reports identifying deficiencies and corrective actions.
