Job summary

Harley Ellis Devereaux (HED) in Addison, TX is seeking a Fire Protection Designer to advance design documentation, perform calculations, and coordinate across disciplines.

You will model fire protection systems in Revit, develop project sheet lists, assist with BIM Project Execution Plan, and support submittals and RFIs under supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in the AEC industry.
• Written and verbal communication skills commensurate with the position.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Revit experience required.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, flexible and curious.
• Ability to work well with others under deadline situations.

Responsibilities

• Produce the fire protection sheet list for projects and set up in Revit.
• Participate in BIM Project Execution Plan.
• Support submittals and develop RFI responses with supervision from lead engineer.
• Collaborate with project engineers and coordinate disciplines.
• Model fire protection components in Revit based on code and client requirements.
• Produce redline markups to delegate tasks.
• Mentor other fire protection engineers and teach design concepts.
• Edit Division 21 specifications with project engineers.
• Check work for graphical and technical issues before deliverables.
• Attend client and project team meetings to review requirements.
