Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
• P.E. licensure is required.
• 5+ years in the AEC industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design development and calculations for fire protection systems through schematic to construction documents.
• Independently perform fire protection design tasks with minimal input.
• Prepare technical documentation: system descriptions, narratives, Division 21 specs, equipment schedules, redlines.
• Develop and review fire protection layouts in Revit coordinating with architecture and structural backgrounds.
• Coordinate with internal/external disciplines to resolve conflicts and progress design.
• Review RFIs and submittals with support from lead engineers.
• Perform field verification, punch walks, and construction observation visits.
• Participate in early-phase design strategy discussions and mentor junior staff.
• Engage in QAQC and peer reviews for code compliance and drafting consistency.
• Mentor designers and interns in software use and calculation basics.
• Participate in project meetings and assist with agendas and minutes.
