Job summary

Harley Ellis Devereaux (HED) is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to join our team in advancing fire protection design from concept to construction.

You will independently handle design tasks, develop calculations, and prepare system documentation while mentoring junior staff. The role emphasizes coordination across disciplines and client-facing support as you deepen engineering leadership capabilities in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) required.
• P.E. licensure required.
• 5+ years in the AEC industry preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills required.
• Proficiency in Revit and design documentation expected.

Responsibilities

• Lead fire protection design tasks across schematic through construction documents.
• Prepare system descriptions, equipment schedules, and narratives.
• Develop and review fire protection layouts in Revit with coordination.
• Coordinate with internal/external teams to resolve design conflicts.
• Support QAQC, RFIs, and field verification activities.
