Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a service technician to diagnose, repair, and install fire alarm systems and related building systems at customer sites. You will read blueprints, follow manuals, and communicate with district staff to ensure satisfaction.

The role includes on-call rotation, training others, and providing solutions to improve building efficiency. Candidates should have 4+ years in low voltage systems, a high school diploma, and the ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in confined

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience with low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety and Access Control.
• 1Experience reading blueprints, submittals, and manuals; familiarity with test equipment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Able to lift 50–70 lbs and work in tight spaces.
• Willing to work flexible hours including weekends.
• Demonstrates strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service calls; diagnose and repair electronic fire alarm systems.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, and manuals to guide repairs.
• Document service activities; obtain customer signatures.
• Participate in on-call rotation and mentor teammates.
• Provide solutions to improve building efficiency and upsell where appropriate.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations.
