Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking a Security Service Technician to independently service and maintain intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV and other low-voltage systems. You will verify system performance and meet customer expectations while upholding safety and codes.

The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, accurate documentation, and travel to job sites. A high school diploma and 3+ years in the field are expected, with a valid driver’s license for driving assignments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of fire and life safety industry experience as apprentice or technician.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (if driving role).
• Strong knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform service, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and maintenance of security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and related low-voltage systems.
• Diagnose system issues and complete corrective actions in a timely and professional manner.
• Test and verify proper system functionality and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on security and low-voltage systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, system layouts, and technical manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete service work efficiently and safely.
• Complete service documentation, inspection reports, and work orders accurately and on time.
• Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors regarding job progress and system status.
