Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Life Safety Service Rep, Electronic to drive field-based sales of Fire/Life Safety services in an assigned territory. You will manage full sales cycle from opportunity discovery to closing, while coordinating with internal teams to deliver a complete customer experience.

The role emphasizes building trusted relationships, tailoring proposals, and supporting customers after the sale; a Bachelor's degree is preferred and a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of successful sales experience with fire alarms, security control, and monitoring.
• Excellent sales, presentation, and closing techniques.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
• PC proficiency, including Word and Excel; job costing systems.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to obtain licenses required by national, state, and local codes.

Responsibilities

• Sell Fire/Life Safety service offerings and Electronic Services to assigned customers and end users.
• Manage the full sales process from opportunity discovery and solution development through design, contract creation, negotiation, closing, and ongoing service support.
• Work with sales, technical, design engineering, service, support, and management teams to meet customer needs.
• Determine customer needs and develop a sales strategy to position company product offerings effectively.
• Close sales to meet or exceed sales plan objectives and maintain an active proposal backlog that supports the designated sales plan.
• Assume account management responsibility, including coordination of services such as installation and customer training to support complete customer satisfaction.
• Prepare financial justifications, proposals, and presentations, and perform the follow-up needed to secure the sale.
• Investigate and resolve customer concerns related to delivery dates, billing, financing, and other related matters.
• Maintain established accounts through regular customer contact, conduct building surveys to support estimates, and perform periodic market investigations to identify new applications.
• Provide sales forecasting for the assigned territory and maintain correct, complete records of all sales-related activity.
