Job summary

Johnson Controls is hiring a Life Safety Service Rep to drive Fire/Life Safety service offerings and Electronic Services (Moves, Adds and Changes) within an assigned territory. The role focuses on building trusted customer relationships, shaping value propositions, and turning opportunities into long-term service business.

You will manage a full sales cycle from uncovering opportunities to negotiating terms and closing business, coordinating with internal teams to deliver a complete customer

Qualifications

• Three or more years of successful sales experience with fire alarms, security control, and monitoring or a similar industry.
• Excellent sales, presentation, and closing techniques.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
• PC proficiency, including Word, Excel, and job costing systems.

Responsibilities

• Sell Fire/Life Safety service offerings and Electronic Services to assigned customers and end users.
• Manage the full sales process from opportunity discovery through design, contract creation, negotiation, closing, and ongoing service support.
• Work with sales, technical, design engineering, service, support, and management teams to meet customer needs.
• Determine customer needs and develop a sales strategy to position company product offerings effectively.
• Close sales to meet or exceed sales plan objectives and maintain an active proposal backlog that supports the designated sales plan.
• Assume account management responsibility, including coordination of services such as installation and customer training to support complete customer satisfaction.
• Prepare financial justifications, proposals, and presentations, and perform the follow-up needed to secure the sale.
• Investigate and resolve customer concerns related to delivery dates, billing, financing, and other related matters.
• Maintain established accounts through regular customer contact, conduct building surveys to support estimates, and perform periodic market investigations to identify new applications.
• Provide sales forecasting for the assigned territory and maintain correct, complete records of all sales-related activity.
