Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an on-site Service Technician to support Mobile, AL and coastal MS. You will diagnose and repair fire alarm and related life-safety systems, read blueprints, and collaborate with customers to ensure optimal facility performance.

Requires 2+ years in low voltage electrical systems and NICET Level II; strong communication and physical ability for field service. Competitive benefits apply; on-call rotation included.

Qualifications

• 2+ years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems including Fire/Life Safety systems, Access Control, Nurse Call and Paging systems.
• NICET Level II certification.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and manuals; knowledge of test equipment and commissioning devices.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls from Service Resource Center and document issues.
• Contact customer representative to ascertain equipment problems.
• Diagnose problems and repair fire alarm and related building systems on-site.
• Follow troubleshooting procedures and refer to manuals to repair equipment.
• Service and install systems including SimplexGrinnell; read blueprints and specs.
• Interpret diagrams, submittals and manuals; document work with CS devices.
• Maintain customer satisfaction through excellent service and communication.
• Complete service acknowledgements with proper codes and signatures.
• Participate in on-call rotation and mentor teammates.
