Qualifications

• Fire dispatch certification or EMS dispatch training may be required for some assignments.
• Experience with computer systems, maps, and radio communication is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and document reports of fires, rescues, alarms, and hazards.
• Verify incident locations, access details, and reported risks.
• Alert stations and dispatch apparatus using approved response plans.
• Monitor radio channels, unit status, and incident progress.
• Relay occupant and hazard information and changing conditions.
• Process resource requests through established procedures.
• Coordinate mutual-aid communications when assigned.
