Job summary

The Hiller Companies, LLC is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician for on-site work to inspect, test and repair fire alarm systems in line with NFPA codes. The role emphasizes thorough inspections, accurate reporting and timely customer communication.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience, NICET certification is preferred, and a valid driver’s license with willingness to travel to client sites. We offer comprehensive benefits and opportunities for certification advancement.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical or vocational training in fire alarm systems preferred.
  • 5+ years Fire Alarm Technician experience preferred.
  • NICET certifications strongly preferred.
  • State Fire Alarm licensing preferred, or the ability to acquire.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record and willingness to travel to client sites.
  • Experience in installation, maintenance and repair of fire alarm systems.
  • Solid understanding of NFPA 72 and relevant building and fire codes.
  • Proficiency reading blueprints, schematics and technical manuals for fire alarm equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test fire alarm components to verify proper operation.
  • Prepare detailed inspection and test reports per NFPA codes.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs on wiring, devices and software.
  • Respond to service calls and emergencies to restore system functionality.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and battery replacements.
  • Document all service activities and parts usage in system records.
  • Collaborate with Deficiency Sellers and Service Coordinators to estimate repairs and schedule work.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to clients professionally.
