Job summary

The Hiller Companies is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician to inspect, test, maintain and repair fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with NFPA codes and industry standards. You will document inspections, troubleshoot issues, and provide expert advice to customers on-site at client locations.

Responsibilities include routine testing, diagnostic repairs, preventive maintenance, and generating detailed service reports.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Technical or vocational training in fire alarm systems or related field preferred.
• NICET Certifications strongly preferred.
• State specific Fire Alarm licensing preferred, or ability to acquire.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
• Prior experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of fire alarm systems in commercial and industrial settings.
• Solid understanding of NFPA 72 and related codes.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics and manuals for fire alarm equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, maintain and repair fire alarm systems in accordance with standards.
• Conduct routine inspections and testing of fire alarm components and verify operation.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and test results.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed.
• Respond to service calls and emergency requests to restore system functionality.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and document all activities using ServiceTrade.
• Coordinate with Deficiency Sellers for inspection reports and repair estimates.
• Interact professionally with clients to schedule work and discuss findings.
• Coordinate with Service Coordinators to optimize work orders and scheduling.
