Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks an experienced field service technician in Austin, TX, to diagnose, repair and install fire alarm and related building systems at customer sites. You will read blueprints, handle low‑voltage equipment, and communicate effectively with customers and staff.

The role requires 4+ years in low‑voltage systems, a Texas Fire Alarm License or equivalent, and willingness to work on‑call hours. A competitive benefits package and on‑site work support are provided.

Qualifications

• 4+ years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems including Fire/Life Safety, Access Control, Nurse Call and Paging systems.
• Texas Fire Alarm License experience preferred.
• Able to read blueprints, submittals and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems and perform service/repairs on Fire/Life Safety and related building systems at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot, repair and program panels for fire alarms, security and access control.
• Organize resources and communicate clearly with customers and district staff to ensure satisfaction.
• Maintain vehicle inventory and provide quotes to support solutions.
• On‑call and after‑hours work to meet customer needs.
