Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an HVAC Equipment Service Technician 3 to lead on-site fire alarm projects, plan and execute installations, and manage project scope, timelines and profitability. You will coordinate hardware design, system programming, and commissioning, while guiding subcontractors and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires 2–5 years of installation experience, strong customer service, and the ability to travel regionally.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years’ experience with installation and service of fire alarm systems.
• Aptitude for troubleshooting electrical/electronic systems and repairs.
• Ability to work independently and deliver on customer projects.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift and transport equipment up to 40 pounds.
• Educational background in high school/technical or an associate degree related to electronics or computers.
• Competent PC skills (Windows OS & MS Office) and basic IT networking.
• Familiarity with hand/power tools and test equipment listed above.
• Excellent verbal/written communication and ability to read complex docs.
• Clean background, driving record, and ability to obtain LEA license.
• Willingness to travel within Oregon and nearby states.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute and complete fire alarm projects on site as the project lead.
• Coordinate hardware design, software programming, installation and commissioning.
• Manage costs, billings and collections; pursue change orders when needed.
• Communicate with customers throughout project phases and provide documentation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and ensure safety and compliance.
• Provide training, mentoring and technical assistance to field staff.
• Maintain project plans, timely closeouts and commissioning reports.
