Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an HVAC Equipment Service Technician 3 to lead on-site fire alarm projects, coordinating design, programming, installation, commissioning, and closeout. You will manage budgets, schedules, and customer communications while ensuring safety and compliance.

Travel within Oregon and surrounding states is possible for project assignments. The role requires 2-5 years of fire alarm installation/service experience, strong electrical knowledge, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• 2-5 years’ experience with installation and service of fire alarm
• Demonstrate working knowledge of electricity and electronics with troubleshooting ability
• Ability to work independently
• High level of customer service
• Able to carry and move equipment/tools weighing up to 40 pounds
• Minimum high school/trade school graduate, or two year Associate degree in electronics or computers
• Working knowledge of personal computers (Windows) and Microsoft Office
• Working knowledge of IT network systems
• Ability to use hand and power tools and test equipment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read and understand complex building documents and project plans
• Must be able to pass background, drug screen and credit check; clean driving record
• Must possess or obtain LEA license
• Willingness to travel within Oregon and adjoining states

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and complete fire alarm projects on-site with customers
• Coordinate hardware design, software programming, installation, commissioning, and project closeout
• Manage project financials including costs and billings
• Pursue change orders and communicate with customers throughout the project
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers and oversee payments
• Provide on-site training and documentation for owners/operators
• Maintain safety standards and compliance with codes and company policies
• Lead and mentor technicians and installers as needed
• Prepare as-built and commissioning documentation
• Provide monthly revenue and cost forecasts
