Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a HVAC Equipment Service Technician 3 to lead on-site fire alarm projects, coordinating design, installation, programming, and commissioning while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. You will manage costs, billings, and vendor coordination, and mentor field staff to deliver high-quality outcomes.

The role requires strong electrical knowledge, ability to troubleshoot, and willingness to travel within Oregon and nearby states.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years’ experience with installation and service of fire alarm
• Demonstrate working knowledge of electricity and electronics
• Ability to troubleshoot systems and perform repairs
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must pass background, drug, and credit checks
• Must have or obtain State LEA license and clean driving record
• Willingness to travel within region and adjoining states

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute and complete fire alarm projects on site
• Manage project scope, costs, billings, and cash flow
• Coordinate with customers and subcontractors throughout the project
• Provide work direction to installers and technicians
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements
• Prepare as-built and commissioning documentation
• Pursue change orders and additional work where applicable
• Mentor junior technicians and coordinate site training
