Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled Fire Alarm/Fire Suppression Technician to install, program, configure, commission and service systems at customer sites. Site work includes reading blueprints, coordinating with trades and ensuring on-time completion.

Responsibilities include training customers, documenting work, and adhering to safety policies. Applicants should have 3+ years in low voltage systems, a valid driver's license, and willingness for on-call rotation and occasional overnight

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years experience with low voltage electrical systems and Fire/Life Safety systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, submittals and manuals.
• Experience with hand tools, test equipment and commissioning devices.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel overnight may be required.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, configure, commission and service Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Systems at customer sites.
• Read blueprints and coordinate installation with trades to optimize time.
• Instruct customers on operation, conduct simulations and answer questions.
• Maintain documentation and adhere to safety policies; participate in on-call rotation.
