Job summary

Summit Fire & Security in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Fire Alarm & Security Technician to install, troubleshoot, service and repair fire alarm and security systems with minimal supervision. You will program and test systems, use test equipment, and follow safety protocols while communicating with customers and coordinating with monitoring services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• NICET Level 1 Fire Alarm Certification is required.
• 2 years Fire Life Safety Industry experience in Fire Alarm is required.
• NICET or state-specific certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, service and repair fire alarm and security systems with minimal supervision.
• Use required tools and test equipment to repair or replace system components.
• Program and test fire alarm systems; understand and follow codes and standards.
• Communicate professionally with customers and monitoring companies; document work orders.
• Be available for on-call emergencies and travel locally as needed.
