Job summary

Summit Fire & Security is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm & Security Technician to install, troubleshoot, service and repair fire alarm and security systems with minimal supervision.

You will use a variety of tools and programming software, follow safety standards, and communicate professionally with customers and monitoring companies. Expect local travel up to 90% and ongoing training to stay current with codes and technology.

Qualifications

• 2 years Fire Life Safety Industry experience, specifically in Fire Alarm, required.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English with employees and customers.
• NICET Level 1 Fire Alarm Certification, required.
• 2 years of professional computer skills, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, service and repair fire alarm and security systems with minimal supervision.
• Use required tools and test equipment to repair or replace system components.
• Have knowledge of fire alarm codes and standards and perform programming of fire alarm systems.
• Troubleshoot faults including ground faults in fire alarm systems and replace components as needed.
• Complete documentation on work orders and maintain safety practices per policy.
• Travel up to 90% locally and communicate with customers and monitoring services.
