Job summary

Summit Fire & Security is seeking a Fire Alarm & Security Technician to install, troubleshoot, service and repair fire alarm and security systems with minimal supervision. You will use test equipment and programming software to ensure systems function correctly.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 2 years in fire life safety, NICET Level 1 or state certification, and strong English communication skills. Travel and on-site work are essential aspects of the role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• NICET Level 1 Fire Alarm Certification required; NICET or state-specific certification preferred.
• 2 years Fire Life Safety Industry experience, specifically in Fire Alarm.
• 2 years of professional computer skills preferred.
• Experience with business intelligence systems or Sage 300 CRE beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, service and repair fire alarm and security systems with minimal supervision.
• Program and test fire alarm systems and components using appropriate software and test equipment.
• Diagnose faults and replace or repair faulty components (FACP, power supply, sensors).
• Adhere to fire alarm codes, safety procedures and company policies.
• Maintain documentation, complete work orders and communicate with customers.
