Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a technician to install, program, troubleshoot, and service Fire Alarm, Access Control, and CCTV systems at customer sites. The role focuses on networked fire alarm systems, with responsibilities spanning from panel programming to field service tasks.

You will read blueprints and manuals, work with hand tools and test equipment, and be prepared for after-hours coverage and occasional travel to customer sites. A valid driver's license and safety training are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience reading blueprints, submittals, and operation manuals.
• Experience with hand tools, test equipment, multi-meter usage, digital analyzer and commissioning devices.
• Able to lift 50–70 lbs and perform physical labor.
• Able to work nights/weekends and overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, troubleshoot, configure, commission, and service Fire Alarm, Access Control, and CCTV systems at customer sites.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specs, and manuals to support tasks.
• Respond to service calls promptly and repair as needed.
• Participate in after-hours service program.
• Coordinate with central dispatch and update work orders.
• Supervise installation to meet customer and contract specifications.
