Job summary

Johnson Controls in the United States is seeking an experienced field technician to install, program, troubleshoot, and service fire alarm, access control, and CCTV systems at customer sites. You will focus on networked fire alarm systems and coordinate with dispatch and customers to ensure quality service.

The role requires reading blueprints, using test equipment and tools, and willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience reading blueprints, submittals, and manuals.
• Experience with hand tools, test equipment, multimeter, and commissioning devices.
• Able to lift 50-70 lbs and work in challenging positions.

Responsibilities

• Install and program fire alarm, security, and CCTV systems at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and test systems to meet specifications.
• Participate in after-hours service rotations.
• Read drawings and specifications to install equipment per contract.
• Document tasks and service activities promptly.
