Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician in Ohio to diagnose and service electronic fire alarm systems at customer sites. You will read blueprints and manuals, perform repairs, and maintain clear customer communication.

The role requires good troubleshooting, a valid driver's license, and an Ohio fire alarm license. NICET II is preferred; on-call duty and occasional travel are expected as part of the service team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience with fire alarm, access control, security intrusion, sound and communications systems.
• Interpret blueprints, diagrams and specifications.
• Good computer skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• State of Ohio Fire Alarm License.
• Night/weekend work and travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls and determine equipment problems at customer sites.
• Diagnose, repair, and service fire alarm and related building systems.
• Follow troubleshooting procedures using manuals and bulletins.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, and specifications; install and program panels.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain documentation.
• Participate in on-call rotation and mentor teammates.
• Prepare quotes and uphold safety guidelines.
