Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Fire Detection Service Technician 2 to diagnose, repair, and install electronic fire alarm and related life-safety systems at customer sites. You will interpret blueprints, follow manuals, and deliver excellent customer service while ensuring system reliability and safety.

This on-site role requires troubleshooting, equipment replacement, and collaboration with the service team. Travel and on-call duties may be required to support customer needs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience with fire alarm, access control, security intrusion, sound and communications systems.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, diagrams and specifications.
• Good working knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls from Service Resource Center with brief equipment/system malfunction descriptions.
• Contact customer representative and ascertain equipment/system problems.
• Diagnose problems and perform service/repairs on electronic fire alarm systems and related building systems at customer sites.
• Follow troubleshooting procedures and use manuals to repair equipment.
• Service, troubleshoot and install various manufacturers’ Fire & Life Safety systems including SimplexGrinnell.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software and system manuals.
• Maintain excellent customer service by communicating with district staff and customers to ensure satisfaction.
