Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Service Technician to diagnose, service and repair fire alarm and related building systems at customer sites across Missouri. You will interpret blueprints, coordinate with customers, and ensure top-tier service delivery while maintaining safety standards and on-call flexibility.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience with fire alarm, access control, security intrusion, sound and communications systems
• Must be able to interpret blueprints, diagrams and specifications
• A good working knowledge of computers is necessary
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Capable of performing physical labor including lifting 50-70 lbs and climbing
• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and travel as needed
• Maintain truck inventory and follow safety guidelines

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls from Service Resource Center and assess equipment malfunctions
• Contact customer representative and ascertain problems
• Diagnose and repair fire alarm systems and related building controls onsite
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams and product manuals
• Provide excellent customer service and ensure customer satisfaction
• Complete service acknowledgements and obtain customer signatures
• Participate in on-call rotation and mentor others on the service team
• Provide solutions and UPS/upselling opportunities during service
