Job summary

Johnson Controls in Rocky Hill, CT is seeking an experienced technician to service and repair electronic fire alarm systems and related building systems at customer sites. You will read blueprints, diagnose issues, and provide effective solutions while maintaining high customer service standards.

The role involves organizing resources, coordinating with customers, and occasionally traveling overnight. A valid driver’s license, physical ability, and NICET II preferred are required to excel.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience with fire alarm, access control, security intrusion, sound and communications systems.
• Must be able to interpret blueprints, diagrams and specifications.
• Good working knowledge of computers.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Capable of performing physical labor up to 50-70 lbs.
• Able to work flexible hours including weekends; overnight travel may be required.
• Hold a valid driver’s license and driving record meeting company requirements.
• NICET II preferred

Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems and perform service and repairs on electronic fire alarm systems at customer sites.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications.
• Organize and utilize technical resources to assure efficient task execution.
• Provide high levels of customer service during service calls.
• Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response.
• Participate in on-call rotation.
• Provide quotes and upsell where appropriate.
• Complete service documentation with proper coding.
