Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled field service technician in Connecticut to diagnose, repair, and service fire alarm and life safety systems at customer sites. You will read blueprints, follow troubleshooting procedures, and maintain clear documentation while delivering excellent customer service.

The role involves on-call rotations, potential overnight travel, and the ability to work in challenging environments. A valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 50-70 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience with fire alarm, access control, security intrusion, sound and communications systems
• Must be able to interpret blueprints, diagrams and specifications
• A good working knowledge of computers is necessary
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Capable of physical labor up to 50-70 lbs and climb ladders/ramps/ceilings as needed
• Able to work flexible hours including weekends and overnight travel may be required
• Demonstrate high level of customer service
• Maintain truck inventory and adhere to safety guidelines

Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems and repair fire alarm systems at customer sites
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications
• Perform service, troubleshooting and installation of building safety systems
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide excellent customer service
• Provide quotes and solutions to improve facility efficiency
