Job summary

Johnson Controls in Farmington Hills, MI is seeking a Fire Detection Service Technician to diagnose and repair fire alarm systems at customer sites. You will read blueprints, follow manuals, and communicate clearly with customers to resolve issues.

The role includes on-call rotation, occasional travel, and mentoring teammates. A NICET II or equivalent is preferred; 3+ years of experience in fire alarm, access control, and security systems is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years' experience with fire alarm, access control, and security systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams and specifications.
• Strong computer proficiency and familiarity with standard software.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls and assess equipment problems.
• Diagnose issues and perform service on fire alarm systems and related building systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and manuals to guide repairs.
• Exhibit strong customer service and document work thoroughly.
• Participate in a scheduled On-call rotation and mentor teammates.
