Job summary

Johnson Controls in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced Electrical Inspector for life safety systems. You will perform routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on low voltage and fire/life safety product lines.

The role requires 3-4 years of relevant experience, a Fire Alarm License, and the ability to work on-site with physical labor. NICET certification and hands-on tool experience are preferred. Competitive benefits available.

Qualifications

3-4 years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems and Fire and/or Life Safety Systems.
Fire Alarm License (FAL) is required.
Participation in emergency and on-call rotation.
Adept at troubleshooting systems and following instructions.
Ability to perform physical labor up to 50-70 lbs and work in tight/awkward spaces.
Valid driver's license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

Inspect and test electrical, sprinkler, or suppression life safety lines as well as similar competitive products.
Handle low voltage wiring and devices for operation of equipment.
Complete service acknowledgements with proper coding via laptop or hard copy.
Maintain structured inspection schedule and archive documents.
Make minor repairs and programming changes; provide training to junior inspectors.
Ensure inspections are completed on time.
