Job summary

Johnson Controls in Austin, TX is seeking skilled inspectors to perform routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on low voltage electrical, sprinkler or suppression life safety product lines. The role requires 3-4 years of experience and a Fire Alarm License (FAL).

You will work with low voltage wiring, complete service acknowledgements, follow a strict inspection schedule, and may provide minor repairs and training to junior inspectors.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems and Fire and/or Life Safety Systems.
• Fire Alarm License (FAL) required.
• Participate in emergency and on-call rotation.
• Demonstrates an aptitude for troubleshooting systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect electrical, sprinkler or suppression life safety product lines during routine inspections.
• Work with low voltage wiring and related devices for operation of low voltage equipment.
• Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding using laptops or hard copy.
• Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule.
• Input, retrieve and archive inspection documents via laptop or mobile device.
• Make minor repairs and programming changes to systems being inspected.
• Provide technical training to less senior inspectors and trainees.
