Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a qualified Inspector to perform routine inspections, testing, service and preventative maintenance on Electrical, Sprinkler or Suppression life safety product lines. You will work with low voltage wiring, complete service acknowledgements and maintain a structured inspection schedule.

We value 3-4 years of relevant experience, strong troubleshooting abilities, safety discipline and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems and Fire/Life Safety.
• Aptitude for troubleshooting systems.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Capable of lifting 50–70 lbs and performing physical labor.
• Ability to access confined spaces and work at heights as needed.
• Flexible hours including weekends; self-starter with supervision awareness.
• Adheres to safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
• Strong organizational skills and reliable driving record.
• Able to obtain required licenses; NICET certification preferred.
• Experience with hand tools, multi-meters, reading blueprints/diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Inspect electrical, sprinkler or suppression life safety product lines.
• Work with low voltage wiring and associated devices.
• Complete service acknowledgements with proper coding.
• Follow and maintain a structured inspection schedule.
• Input, retrieve and archive inspection documents.
• Make minor repairs and programming changes to systems.
• Provide technical training to less senior inspectors and trainees.
• Complete assigned inspections on time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
