Job summary

Johnson Controls in Texas is seeking an Inspector to conduct routine inspections, testing, service and preventative maintenance on Fire Alarm systems, including low voltage wiring and documenting work.

The role requires Texas Fire Alarm License, ability to lift up to 70lbs, occasional weekend shifts, and strong organizational and communication skills. You will work with a safety-conscious team and use mobile devices for reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience in testing and inspecting Fire Alarm Equipment.
• Texas Fire Alarm License is required.
• Self-starter with ability to work with little supervision.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Able to perform physical labor.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Test and inspect fire alarm systems with existing and new customer base.
• Maintain proper documentation for work performed using tools provided.
• Work with low voltage wiring and associated devices for the operation of low voltage equipment.
• Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding through communication devices.
• Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule.
• Input, retrieve and archive inspection documents via mobile device.
• Make minor repairs and programming changes to systems being inspected.
• Must adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
• Carry/move equipment and tools up to 70lbs.
• Work in ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment as needed.
• Work alternative shifts or weekends to meet customer needs.
