Job summary

Impact Fire Services in Austin, TX is seeking a self-motivated Inspector with experience in fire alarm systems to join our growing team. The role focuses on conducting routine inspections, testing, service, and maintenance of life safety systems while delivering exceptional customer support.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience, active licensing, and a strong ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years Fire Alarm servicing and/or inspection experience.
• Active licensing and certification required by National, Texas, and local codes for the Inspector level.
• Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs schematics and manuals.
• Experience with hand tools and multimeter usage.
• Proficiency with MS Excel / Word and iPhone/iPad apps.
• Occasional local, regional and overnight travel.
• Strong customer service and organizational skills.
• Strong working knowledge of NFPA codes.
• Drug test and pre-employment background screening required; MVR checks for driving roles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections, testing, service, and maintenance on life safety systems.
• Work with low voltage wiring and devices for operation of equipment.
• Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding via tablet.
• Follow and maintain a structured inspection schedule.
• Input, retrieve and archive inspection documents via tablet.
• Make minor repairs and programming changes with minimal supervision.
• Provide technical training to less senior inspectors and trainees.
• Complete assigned inspections on time.
