Job summary

Solucient Security in Illinois (Northbrook) is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Installation & Service Technician to manage installation, testing, inspection and service of life-safety systems. You will read plans, troubleshoot issues, and ensure work meets NFPA standards while collaborating with a team and client.

The role requires NICET certification, hands-on experience, and a valid driver's license. You will work in a field-based, full-time capacity with focus on safety and quality

Qualifications

• NICET 1 or 2 certification in Fire Alarm Systems is required at time of hire.
• Hands-on commercial fire alarm installation and service experience.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and fire alarm codes.
• Ability to interpret plans, specifications, wiring diagrams, and documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Maintain required licenses, certifications, and continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair and maintain fire alarm and life-safety systems.
• Perform commissioning, system verification and required inspections.
• Read and interpret drawings, specifications, wiring diagrams, and documentation.
• Document work, testing results, deficiencies, and changes.
• Communicate with clients and teammates about progress and next steps.
• Train clients on system operation and provide technical support.
• Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles and resources.
