Job summary

Solucient Security is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Installation & Service Technician to own fire alarm systems from install to testing, inspection, and service. You will work on life-safety systems with focus on quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

The role requires NICET Level I or II certification, hands-on field experience, and the ability to read plans and diagrams. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to work independently within a team.

Responsibilities

This is a full-time, field-based position within our Install and Service Operations team.

What You'll Do

As a Fire Alarm Installation & Service Technician, you will take ownership of fire alarm systems from installation and programming through testing, inspection, troubleshooting, and service.

You Will

• Install, program, inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial fire alarm and life-safety systems and support other electronic security installation and service work in other low-voltage security solutions when needed.
• Perform commissioning, system verification, and required inspections.
• Read and interpret drawings, specifications, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Diagnose system issues, identify root causes, and determine appropriate corrective action.
• Perform work in accordance with applicable codes, NFPA standards, manufacturer specifications, AHJ requirements, and Solucient standards.
• Accurately document work performed, testing results, deficiencies, programming changes, and materials.
• Communicate proactively with clients and teammates about progress, issues, and next steps.
• Train clients on system operation and provide professional technical support.
• Maintain Company tools, equipment, vehicles, and other resources.

What We're Looking For

NICET 1 or 2 certification in Fire Alarm Systems is required at time of hire.

Candidates Should Also Bring

• Hands-on commercial fire alarm installation and service experience.
• Experience with programming, testing, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Working knowledge of applicable fire alarm codes and standards, including NFPA 72.
• Ability to interpret plans, specifications, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Professional client communication and follow‑through.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to maintain required licenses, certifications, and continuing education.

Physical & Work Requirements

This is an active field position. Technicians must be able to perform commercial installation and service work that may include standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, climbing ladders, working from lifts or at heights, working above ceilings, using hand and power tools, and lifting or moving equipment and materials.

Technicians travel between client locations and work in a variety of commercial, construction, and mechanical environments.

Schedule

Full-Time | Non-Exempt

Standard schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

Schedule flexibility, overtime, some overnight travel, and participation in the on-call rotation are required based on client and business needs.
