Job summary

ADVANTAGE FIRE SPRINKLER COMPANY INC is seeking a field service technician to inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fire alarm and life safety systems in commercial and industrial properties.

You will program and verify control panels, complete detailed reports, and stay current with NFPA 72 and local codes. The role includes on-call rotations and emergency response to ensure reliable system operation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• 1–3 years experience servicing fire alarm or life safety systems.
• NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems preferred or required by state.
• Strong working knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and local fire codes.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fire alarm and life safety systems.
• Diagnose issues, identify malfunctions, and perform timely repairs.
• Program, configure, and verify fire alarm control panels and related devices.
• Complete service reports, inspection documentation, and compliance forms.
• Maintain accurate records of work, deficiencies, and actions taken.
• Communicate system status and code compliance to customers.
• Coordinate with project managers, service coordinators, and inspectors.
• Ensure tools, test equipment, and service vehicles are properly maintained.
• Stay current with industry codes, technologies, and certification requirements.
• Participate in on-call rotation and emergency service response.
