Job summary

Encore Fire Protection is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician to inspect, test, program, service, and troubleshoot a wide range of fire alarm systems across multiple sites. This field-based role emphasizes problem solving, precise workmanship, and customer interaction.

You will travel within the assigned territory, handle emergency calls, and coordinate with contractors and internal teams to ensure compliant, reliable life-safety systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical/industry experience preferred.
• NICET certification in water-based systems is a strong plus.
• Valid electrical license per state requirements; valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Service, program, test, inspect, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems, basic and complex.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs per NFPA 72 and company standards.
• Identify deficiencies and provide professional recommendations for improvements.
• Respond to emergency calls including nights, weekends, and on-call rotations.
• Collaborate with contractors, building personnel, and internal teams for timely service.
• Document service activities with findings, work performed, and parts used.
• Maintain clear communication with customers, supervisors, and office staff.
