Job summary

Wachter, Inc. is seeking a Fire Alarm/Intrusion/Access Control Service Technician for work across the United States, with a focus on CT locales. The role requires hands-on installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of low-voltage systems in commercial settings.

Training, travel, and strong customer communication are emphasized. Must have CT electrical journeyperson license, field experience, and a valid driver's license. NICET certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold CT Electrical Limited Journeyperson license.
• Experience with Fire Alarm, Intrusion and Access Control field installs.
• NICET certification preferred but not required.
• Current physical security or life safety license in applicable technology.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70/72 standards.
• Dayside work with some night shifts; travel up to 30%.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record; PPE and transportation available during training.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair cabling and equipment for IP Video, Access Control, and LAN/WAN.
• Run low voltage cabling in commercial settings, including drilling and conduit work.
• Complete wiring and terminations to meet contractual requirements.
• Install and program fire alarm control panels per plans and layouts.
• Mount sensors and gain access to crawl spaces or attics; ensure code compliance.
• Test newly installed systems; ensure all devices operate correctly.
• Adhere to safety requirements and assist with on-site schedules.
• Collaborate with team lead or project manager and provide remote escalation when needed.
• Troubleshoot to ensure systems meet local, county, state, or federal codes.
