Job summary

Wachter, Inc. is hiring a Fire Alarm/Intrusion/Access Control Service Technician for work at various locations across the United States.

The role requires field installation experience in security environments and CT electrical licensure, with NICET preferred. Responsibilities include installing and troubleshooting cabling, access control, and fire alarm systems, while ensuring compliance with NFPA standards and safety practices.

Qualifications

• CT Electrical License required.
• Field installation experience in security environments: Fire Alarm /Intrusion / Access Control.
• NICET certification preferred.
• Current/valid state Physical Security license and/or Life Safety license in applicable technology.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards (NFPA 70 & 72).

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair cabling systems and equipment in IP Video, Access Control / Intrusion Alarm / LAN/WAN infrastructure, and wireless LAN.
• Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and limited conduit bending.
• Complete wiring, connections/terminations, and equipment installations ensuring Access Control and Intrusion systems meet contractual requirements.
• Install, repair, or upgrade fire alarm systems and program control panels per plans and layouts.
• Mount sensors at locations such as ceilings, crawlspaces, or attics.
• Test to ensure all systems are operational and compliant with codes.
• Adhere to safety requirements and assist with on-site schedules and equipment delivery.
• Troubleshoot new installations to meet local, county, state, or federal codes and insurance requirements.
