Job summary

Miter is seeking an Engineering Manager for Financials to lead a greenfield initiative on our payroll and HR platform for construction contractors. You will recruit, mentor, and guide an engineering pod while delivering core financial capabilities from the ground up.

You will work closely with the CEO and early customers to shape the roadmap, balance speed with correctness, and ensure long‑term reliability of critical financial systems across the country.

Qualifications

• Significant hands‑on engineering career at senior/staff level transitioning into management.
• Experience shipping 0→1 products or new product lines from scratch.
• Experience in fintech/payments/payroll domains with high accuracy requirements.
• Ability to design and evolve complex, correctness‑critical transactional systems at scale.
• Track record of attracting and growing strong engineering teams.
• Decisiveness under ambiguity with credible communication to execs and customers.

Responsibilities

• Build and hire the Financials team: grow and onboard engineers; manage performance.
• Ship 0→1 financials products from expenses to enterprise‑ready systems.
• Stay hands‑on as a player‑coach, setting engineering and design standards.
• Own delivery and technical direction: set roadmap, architecture, reliability for Financials.
• Partner with CEO and early customers to discover and build what’s needed.
• Move fast on a greenfield surface while ensuring long‑term architectural integrity.
