Job summary

Databento is seeking a technically proficient Support Engineer to be the first point of contact for customer issues during EU hours. You will resolve API usage, onboarding, and billing questions, escalate complex cases to engineering, and contribute to docs and tutorials.

You’ll also engage with developer communities and help improve our onboarding materials. Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in technical support or engineering, strong Python skills, and experience with common debugging

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in technical support, QA, or engineering.
• Working proficiency in Python.
• Experience with troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, ss, curl, jq, and lsof.
• Experience with observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Sentry).
• Strong technical communication; DevRel experience is a plus.
• Experience at an early-stage startup is a plus.
• Based in the EU region to provide support coverage during business hours.
• Prior experience with Databento's API is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for customer support inquiries related to API usage, onboarding, authentication, integration, and billing.
• Escalate issues to L2/L3 support or engineering with clear reproduction steps and logs.
• Identify recurring questions and contribute improvements to documentation, FAQs, and onboarding materials.
• Write technical content, including tutorials, how-to guides, and blog posts to help developers use our APIs.
• Help manage and grow our online developer communities (Slack, Reddit, etc.) by answering questions and surfacing feedback.
