EU Frontline API Support Engineer (L1)

Databento is redefining market data access by charging only for data used. We serve top finance and fintech institutions and empower startups with a simple, scalable API workflow.

As L1 support, you will be the first contact for EU-hours issues, resolve common API onboarding questions, and escalate complex cases with clear context to engineers. You’ll contribute to docs and community forums as we grow.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in technical support, QA, or engineering.
• Familiarity with financial trading and/or market data is a plus.
• Working proficiency in Python and technical communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for customer support inquiries, resolving API usage, onboarding, authentication, integration, and billing issues.
• Escalate issues to L2/L3 support or engineering with clear reproduction steps and logs.
• Identify recurring questions and contribute to documentation, FAQs, and onboarding materials.
• Write technical content such as tutorials and how-to guides to help developers use our APIs.
• Help manage online developer communities and surface feedback.
