Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Controller to join our leadership team in Chandler, AZ for an employee-owned distribution company serving construction and building products. This is an ownership role overseeing the accounting function, reporting, close, controls, and collaboration with senior leadership.

The ideal candidate brings 15+ years in accounting, 5+ years in a controller role, strong GAAP, ERP experience, and a track record of building teams across locations.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership in a controller role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting expertise.
• Experience with month-end/year-end close and external financial statements.
• Proven leadership of an accounting team across multiple locations.
• Experience with ESOP/employee-owned structures and 401(k) reporting preferred.
• Multi-entity or multi-location accounting experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle accounting across GL, AP, AR, payroll and fixed assets.
• Lead monthly, quarterly and year-end close and financial reporting.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and variance analyses.
• Maintain internal controls and accounting policies.
• Oversee ERP and drive process improvements and automation.
• Lead, mentor and develop the accounting team.
• Coordinate tax, audits and external CPA matters.
• Partner with leadership on financial reporting and planning.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle accounting across GL, AP, AR, payroll and fixed assets

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive accounting experience,5+ years in a Controller or similar leadership role
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Strong GAAP, financial reporting and full-cycle accounting background
• Experience owning month-end/year-end close and financial statements
• Proven accounting team leadership experience
• Strong ERP/accounting systems experience and advanced Excel skills
• Budgeting, forecasting, internal controls and process improvement experience
• ESOP / employee-owned company and 401(k) reporting experience preferred
• Multi-location or multi-entity accounting experience strongly preferred
