Jobot is seeking a Financial Controller to join a well-established, multi-location distribution company serving the construction and building products market. This is an ownership role leading the accounting function and partnering with executive leadership across the organization.

The role near Chandler, AZ is on-site and permanent, offering $130,000-$160,000 per year, company-paid benefits, ESOP, and opportunities to enhance systems, reporting, and controls while mentoring the accounting team.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership exposure
• Experience leading month-end/year-end close and financial statements
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting background
• Experience owning close processes and internal controls
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems and process improvement

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle accounting across GL, AP, AR, payroll and fixed assets
• Lead monthly, quarterly and year-end close and financial reporting
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and monthly variance analyses
• Maintain internal controls and accounting policies
• Oversee ERP/accounting systems and drive automation
• Lead, mentor and develop the accounting team
• Coordinate tax, audit and outside CPA matters
• Partner with leadership on financial reporting and planning

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle accounting across GL, AP, AR, payroll and fixed assets

• Maintain internal controls, accounting policies and regulatory compliance


• Oversee ERP/accounting systems and drive process improvement and automation


• Lead, mentor and develop the accounting team


• Coordinate tax, audit and outside CPA matters


• Partner with leadership on financial reporting, planning and business decisions

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive accounting experience,5+ years in a Controller or similar leadership role


• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field


• Strong GAAP, financial reporting and full-cycle accounting background


• Experience owning month-end/year-end close and financial statements


• Proven accounting team leadership experience


• Strong ERP/accounting systems experience and advanced Excel skills


• Budgeting, forecasting, internal controls and process improvement experience


• ESOP / employee-owned company and 401(k) reporting experience preferred


• Multi-location or multi-entity accounting experience strongly preferred
