Job summary

Passaic County Community College is seeking a Staff Assistant in the Financial Aid department to support students through the financial aid process and assist in Enrollment Services. The role reports to the Director of Financial Aid and requires strong front-line customer service and accurate data handling.

Primary duties include client-facing service, file accuracy reviews, and coordination with other student services.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Exhibit extraordinary customer service required.
• Ability to work well with diverse student population and communicate effectively orally and in writing required.
• Demonstrated ability to perform detailed work in an accurate manner.
• Computer literacy and data processing experience required.
• Knowledge of Federal and State financial aid regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for front counter customer service with primary knowledge of the College's Financial Aid Programs.
• Monitor Financial Aid files for accuracy and completeness and initiate appropriate action to correct and adjust inconsistencies and/or problems.
• Be knowledgeable about the general functions of other student support services, including but not limited to, student admissions, registration, payment, and advisement.
• Respond to walk-in, telephone and email requests for information and service.
• Appropriately inform and refer students to other services on campus in a prompt, cordial and professional manner.
• Ensure that information communicated to students is accurate, thorough and in a professional manner to ensure student needs are fully addressed.
• Comply with all Passaic County Community College, state and federal regulations regarding the access and release of data and information.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
