Job summary

Widener University seeks a Financial Aid Counselor in the Student Financial Services department. You will award and process undergraduate financial aid, counsel students and families on options, policies, and procedures, and package specialized cohorts as assigned.

Responsibilities include preparing offers, advising on payment plans, presenting about financial aid, and using Ellucian/Colleague, FAA access, and NSLDS to ensure eligibility and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions.
• Proficient in composing routine business correspondence and basic math.

Responsibilities

• Prepare undergraduate financial aid offers and resolve eligibility discrepancies.
• Counsel students, parents, and administrators on financial aid options and payment plans.
• Make public presentations about financial aid.
